Master Plank LVL is an engineered wood beam material manufactured with Spruce wood veneers that are laminated together in a specific manner to disperse the normal defects found in ordinary solid-sawn lumber. The veneers are carefully selected and arranged so the effects of knots and splits are minimized and the ultimate strength of the finished product is optimized. Essentially, Master Plank LVL is a homogeneous lumber-type product with predictable and superior structural properties, as compared to sawn lumber of like size.
McCausey has been distributing Master Plank for more than 30 years. Even though this product has primarily been designed and manufactured for typical beam and header type applications for construction purposes, McCausey takes great pride is seeking and developing new applications for this versatile material. Along with the normal production sizes, the unique manufacturing process allows for the production of material from 3/4" to 3-1/2" thickness, up to 96" wide, and as long as 48' length. Also, by modifying the veneer grade quality within the product and/or the grain orientation of the veneers, we can develop other Master Plank products for niche-type applications. Specific grades of Master Plank LVL have been developed and approved for use as scaffold plank, stair stringers, and for other applications requiring light weight and strong panel-like material. |
