Sawn lumber intended for model and pattern making, must be kiln dried, virtually defect free and selected to be very straight-grained, thereby enhancing its dimensional stability or resistance warpage. Many shops have come to prefer and trust our high quality lumber products.
"F.A.S" "First And Seconds" grade is deemed the highest grade possible with sawn lumber. Normal defects inherent of wood, such as knots, wane and pitch are virtually non-existent and the grain structure is very uniform.
"D-Select" This designation is considered a premium grade, without the premium price. A certain percentage of defects (knots, wane, pitch) are allowed. By no means is this grade considered to be clear, but when the material is to be ripped or cut, a high portion of the product is defect-free. |
