Specifications |
 |
Composed of 100% Birch wood veneers, bonded with exterior adhesive, and over-laid with phenolic surface film (PSF) on both sides. Considered to be the highest quality concrete forming product on the market today. The usage of select Birch wood veneer minimizes the potential for grain-telegraphing and the multi-layer construction provides superior strength properties. The phenolic surface film is very resistant to the effects of concrete ingredients and moisture penetration. When properly cared for, this product can sustain 60 or more concrete pours. Because XtraPly PSF is very strong and durable, it is also acceptable for sub-surface trench shoring, and a multitude of other industrial applications. Inquire with a McCausey representative. |

High Density Overlay - HDO |
 |
Composed of Douglas Fir wood veneers, bonded with exterior adhesive, and over-laid with a resin-impregnated film surface that is resistant to the alkaline ingredients found in concrete. Panel life can be anywhere from 30 to 60 pours, depending upon which HDO film surfaces are chosen and of course, how the panel is cared for. HDO plywood is also suitable for road signage, or any other application demanding a strong and smooth surface.
McCausey Lumber offers High Density Overlay (HDO) from very reputable sources. We take great pride in helping our clients determine which particular type of form plywood is best suited for their needs. We carefully access the customer's expectations, relative to finished surface quality, then recommend the form panel believed to perform best. Inquire with a McCausey representative. |

Medium Density Overlay - MDO |
 |
Similar to High Density Overlay (HDO), Medium Density Overlay (MDO) is also composed of Douglas Fir wood veneers which are bonded with exterior adhesive. But However, MDO is surfaced with a resin-treated fiber paper overlay, that is a little less resistant to the harsh effects of concrete ingredients.
When properly cared for, the panel life can be anywhere from 5 to 15 concrete pours. There are many other applications where MDO plywood is suitable, such as truck trailer lining and signage intended to be painted.

BB Plyform |
 |
Composed of either Douglas Fir or Southern Pine wood veneer, bonded with exterior adhesive. Commonly referred to as BB/OES this product is lightly coated with forming oil, and edge sealed to help minimize moisture penetration. Since there is no official overlay applied to this product, grain telegraphing is inevitable likely and panel life is lessened considerably. Depending upon care for the field maintenance of this product, panel life expectancy is approximately likely to be 5 to 10 pours. For obvious reasons, BB Plyform is commonly used when the surface quality of the finished concrete is not critical and blemishes are permissible, or perhaps hidden below ground level.

BB Plyform |

NOTES: The above specifications are not all inclusive. There are different strength classifications pertaining to the plywood substrate, and various options related to the surface film quality, that ultimately effect the quality of the poured surface and product life expectancy. The use of a release agent (forming oil) and proper preparation of the panels will also affect panel life. It is imperative that all factory edges, self-cut edges, and drilled holes, be sealed to prevent moisture penetration, surface blemishes, and enhance panel life. Never assume that factory edges are sealed adequately. For assistance in determining which of the above products is best for your application, inquire with a McCausey representative. |
